BEAUPREAU - Saint Joseph community

1904 to the present

Foundation
In 1904, Mother Voisine, foundress of a small community and hospital, obtained the affiliation of the Religious Hospitallers of Saint Joseph of Bauge with the Congregation of Hospitallers of Saint Joseph.  From the very outset, the community lived within the hospital.

Mission
From its foundation, the Sisters announced the Good News of Jesus Christ by devoting themselves to care of the most needy, thereby revealing a loving God by their witness.  The mission of the aging Sisters is to witness a community life of prayer and openness to those around them.

Today
In 2003, this community comprised the aging Sisters requiring assisted living. Their quarters have been integrated into the nursing home and the Sisters have become residents of the Nursing Home. There are presently 15 sisters living there.
