Pauline Banville-Pérusse of the Saint-Basile sector of Edmundston was honoured in Ottawa by the Governor General of Canada, Julie Payette. Banville-Pérusse was one of 40 recipients of honours. She received the Sovereign’s Medal for Volunteers, which recognizes the outstanding volunteer achievements of Canadians across the country.

This medal recognizes the dedication and commitment of volunteers, such as Pauline Banville-Pérusse, who is recognized for her leadership and fundraising skills. Mrs. Banville-Pérusse has been involved in the Société culturelle Saint-Basile (cultural society of Saint Basile) for over 35 years and she has participated, even at the same time, over the years, in numerous cultural projects related to the arts, music and theatre. She received her Sovereign’s Medal for Volunteers at a ceremony at Rideau Hall on September 12, 2019.
